I've tried to copy a file element of a component into the same File folder as the original file in order to create a copy of it.

But it doesn't work since RiC complains that this File already exists in this component.

For operations this works quite fine, a copy of the element is created and named with the original name attached with "_copy" or if multiple copies "_copy_0", "_copy_1".

What do I need this for you might ask? I need this to apply all the same settings for the File element (.htm-Files) and then all I have to do is change the name of the copy.

If you know another way to do this, I'll be happy to hear about it.

mmmh looks like Rhapsody is not supporting this ... make an enhancement request to Telelogic

As an workaround ... copy the whole Component , rename the file and move it into your destination ....

A littlebit gaga but it works....

Thanks for the hint.

I have found quite a few such (gaga) workarounds like yours before.

I will report this to Telelogic, since in my opinion it's a crucial feature.
