I want to model a system with a client on Linux and a server on Windows. I had planned to use CORBA as the communication middleware. Now I just read in Rhapsody on-line help, that CORBA is only supported in the Windows C++ environment. It is not clear to me, whether this means that CORBA won't run at all on Linux or that code generation of a CORBA application can only be done by Rhapsody on Windows. In the latter case would it still be possible to generate code for Linux (from Windows host)?
I have the TAO ORB running on Windows and Linux, so I see no reason why it should not work.
In case Rhapsody does not support CORBA on Linux at all, what other means of communication between Linux-client and Windows-server can you advise?
