Is there an easy way in RiC to draw the dependencies (<<Usage>>) of a class/package to an external header file (e.g. a file distributed with the compiler toolchain)?
I know how to use C_CG:Class:ImpIncludes/SpecIncludes to specifiy include files but this information is somehow "hidden" inside the properties. It would be nicer to have a diagram for that.
Where do I have to add the external files? Into the component?
Do I have to use ReverseEngineering?
Regards,
Michael

Check out this .pdf file. You don't have to do the 'controlled files' bit of course.

Hi Farquhar,
Thank you for your quick hint. I will try to follow the instructions of the slides, though I won't need the controlled files as you already mentioned.
BTW. Are these presentations by Telelogic somewhere available on the net (e.g. Telelogic KnowledgeBase) or is it just some material from a Rhapsody training class?
Regards,
Michael

I'm not aware of anywhere. This was an answer to a specific question I asked an I-Logix AE a couple of years ago.

Does somebody have another example of this? The screenshots deviate from mine, which I'm assuming is because I have a new version. I can't follow these instructions.
I'm trying to add a controlled file that I can check in and out of CM, and include it where needed.

Does anybody have a better example of this? I finally got my CM system online and need to start using controlled files. The screenshots from above deviate so far from my version of Rhapsody that I'm a little lost.

Maybe I'm trying to do something that is just impossible. I would like to be able to add a controlled file to be included in my CM repository. I compile a lot during development, so I set the compile path to a local directory. I would like for Rhapsody to copy that controlled file to the build area. Do I have to reverse engineer it? If I do, is there a way to either have it reverse engineer it automatically whenever the controlled file is updated in CM? Or at least let me know that it has changed, and that I need to manually reverse engineer it.

As old as this is I am guessing no one solved it? I would like to do the same, have a file reside in CM and version controlled...however when I build I would like rhapsody to copy it out of CM into my build directory and make it available to the complier/linker.
Is this not possible?

No not really, I don't need the headers/files/resources to be reversed engineered into the model. I just need them to be stored in CM then pulled down everytime someone does a build. These include headers, librarys, dlls, etc etc various resources.
